Wizkid, full name Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun introduced himself from singer to songwriter and performer. He is Nigerian born (July 16, 1990) recording artist, performer and songwriter. He chose musical career from young age of 11 and in 2001, released an album with Glorious Five called Lil Prinz. Since, then he is also known as Lil Prinz along with Wizkid.
His parents weren’t receptive regarding his interest on music. Thus, from the initiation, Wizkid worked hard and spent great deal of time in the studio to gain the family’s trust. In 2009, he successfully finalized a record deal with Banky W.’s mark Empire Mates Entertainment.
Yet, it was in 2010 after he released the song “Holla at Your Boy” that escalated his fame. The song was from his first studio album, Superstar. The song garnered him Next Rated award at the Headies 2011, followed by nomination for the Best Pop Single at The Headies 2011.

Wizkid signed a 1yr endorsement deal with Pepsi worth U.S. $350,000 in 2012. The following year, he signed a 1yr deal with MTN Nigeria. The same year he renewed 2yrs of contract with Pepsi. Likewise, he was also 5th on Forbes and Channel O’s list of the Top 10 Richest African Artists in 2013. He then became the first Nigerian artists to gain over 1 million Twitter followers on February, 2014.
