He grew up in Glennville, Georgia with two brothers. He attended Georgia Southern University and did major in marketing. He was a fellow Sigma Chi member and met Luke Bryan in the same university.

He wrote songs for many singers including Craig Campbell’s ‘Outta My Head’, Luke Bryan’s ‘Just a Sip’, ‘In Love with the Girl’ and more. Likewise he also co-wrote Florida Georgia Line’s ‘This is how we roll’.

In 2013, he released solo debut “Chillin’ It”, that went to become very popular on the satellite radio channel “The Highway”.

Then, he signed a record deal with Warner Music Nashville. The subsequent year, he released his self-titled debut album. The album was produced by the Michael Carter, who was the guitarist of Luke Bryan.

Chillin’ It, the album first single became Country Airplay top 5 hit and number 1 on Hot Country Songs. The second single “Hope you get lonely tonight” he co-wrote with the Florida Georgia Line. He released the third single on November, 2014 to country.

It reached Country Airplay chart number 1 song in April 2015. In 2014, he released a five song digital EP, named “The Down Home Sessions”.
